KUWAIT: Health Minister Dr. Helal Al-Sayer has ordered the prosecution of a senior Ministry of Health (MoH) official who allegedly falsified and altered details in patients' reports in a bid to allow the patients to access medical treatment abroad.

"The Doctor has been referred to the Public Prosecution Service for investigation into violations concerning reports from medical committees headed by him," said the minister. He emphasized that the MoH would not deal leniently with any violations that could affect standards of work, especially those concerning patients, insisting, that every health ministry employee "should work for the sake of Kuwait's interests.

Dr. Al-Sayer said that the Health Ministry will never be hesitant about holding any official found guilty of such offenses accountable for their action. The law should be applied equally to everybody, he stressed, saying, "The ministry will never allow anybody, regardless of his post or seniority, to break the law."
